5 Things to Start Doing Now to Get Organized for Fall

The end of summer can be a bittersweet feeling. Vacations have passed. The kids are back in school. But we’re able to look forward to everyone’s other favorite season – fall.

Because there’s so much to look forward to, you don’t want to miss a minute or leave anything unchecked on your fall bucket list (pumpkin patch, anyone?).

Don’t fall behind with these 5 tips to get you organized for the new season.

Get Back on Track

Balancing the hustle and bustle of back-to-school with quarterly meetings and web conferences can feel overwhelming. As life gets busy again, after a summer of enjoyment, it may be a good time to evaluate your current routine.

Maybe you’re looking to join that book club or fit in extra time for family dinners after work/school. Figure out how you’d like your day to go and build the habits you need to make it happen.

Here are 5 easy ways for you to add a little simplicity to your routine.

Re-energize Your Space

Fall is the season of home and family. As fall festivities begin to ramp up, it’s a good time to revamp your space along with it. Go through each room for a deep clean. You don’t want to leave clutter from the summer around in November. And those DIY projects you haven’t had the chance to get to? Start now. Use this time to your advantage to really make your space your own.

Plan Ahead for The Season

On top of all the fun that fall brings, it’s even better knowing the holidays aren’t far behind. With so much to look forward to this season, it’s important to plan out all the details for your favorite things. Find a quiet moment to write them down – the sooner, the better. When it comes to holidays, we all know there’s no such thing as too early! Start thinking of personal plans, holiday meal-planning, and holiday shopping lists now.

Getting ahead of your to-dos during the busier season will save yourself a great deal of stress. Invest in the tools you’ll need to stay organized, like a planner or journal.

Revisit your goals (or make new ones).

Remember those goals you created at the beginning of the year? If you’ve fallen out of touch with your plans or are looking to create new ones, you still have a third of the year to accomplish your goals.

There are four months left until 2022. Reflect on your current space and the direction you’d like to head before the New Year. As you look back on the previous months, ask yourself:

  • What’s one thing you’d like to keep up?
  • What’s one thing you’d like to quit?
  • What’s one thing you’d still like to get started this year?

Think of fall as not only the changing of seasons, but your opportunity to turn over a new leaf. Write out a list of your aspirations for the coming months and create a timeline for yourself. Having this framework will get you back on course and set yourself up for success into the New Year and beyond.
